The origins…
Some of you might recall a company by the name of TEAM 2000; it was based in the Austin, Texas and offered training/consulting services. I was the founder and CEO, and started the business in ~1995. TEAM 2000 grew rapidly, expanding our customer base nationally, and overseas.
Thanks to our dear customers and friends, unlike many other businesses we survived the severe down turn of early 2000, and the market crash of 2008. The company continued operations all through 2010.
An opportunity to make the world better – via elimination of lead…
During 2009, while working with a friend, we saw an opportunity to develop and commercialize novel and lead-free radiation shielding materials for medical and industrial markets. It was a game changer since it would provide great radiation attenuation, the materials were completely non-toxic, bio-compatible, and promised the elimination of lead – something that was sorely needed in a world faced with increasing pollution in every facet of life. We teamed up, toiled in our garage, worked on our kitchen tables, and for the next 2 years focused on the startup – developing the technology, and proving it’s capability.
Subsequently we obtained FDA clearance, commercialized technology, and won Fortune 50 firms as our customers. Along the way – I got a chance to work with angel investors, VC firms, and participate in raising multiple rounds of funding. I exited from this company in September 2014, and took time off to finish my book “Do Magic with Your Life” documenting the system and framework I have used and taught for over 15 years. It was time again for me to create my next dream and use the experiences I have gained to apply Do-Magic for the benefit of my customer friends.
The KPI System (Key Performance Improvement)
I started The KPI System in October 2014 with the mission of enabling performance improvement in “key” areas for organizations and startups, making them more effective and efficient at the same time. It leverages Audits, Risk Analysis, Training, Coaching/Mentoring, and Improvement Projects to deliver powerful and sustainable results.
